This article is based\non a review of recent developments in the nutritional management of patients with CKD and discusses needed support\nand future challenges. The results indicate that protein restriction is necessary in the nutritional management of CKD\npatients prior to the introduction of dialysis in order to reduce the decline in renal function and the importance of\nindividualized interventions to improve patient adherence and patient motivation for dietary management.
